ABC 33/40 reports that the seniors of Oak Mountain High School shut the place down early today with a prank of epic proportions.  According to ABC 33/40, "Parents are lined up at this hour at Shelby County's Oak Mountain High School trying to pick up their children. The school has dismissed for the day because of a senior prank.

Parents are telling us the prank involves some sort of water in the hallways that makes it dangerous for anyone to walk. On Twitter, a picture of dozens of solo cups line on the school's hallways.

Update with statement from Shelby Co. Schools spokesperson:

"Oak Mountain High School was vandalized sometime during the night.  A slippery/soapy substance was put on the hallway floors.  Because classrooms were not accessible, students have been temporarily housed in the Commons Area, Performing Arts Center and cafeteria.

"ServPro was called in to help clean up the hallways and two wings of classrooms are about to be reopened.  Students are safe and are being allowed to study for final exams.  Students who wish to leave have been allowed to check out with parental permission.

"An investigation into this matter is currently ongoing.  The persons responsible have not been identified at this point."

Sounds like the seniors at OMHS are starting their summer early!
