I've never enjoyed the satisfaction one must feel when being angered to the point of striking another human being in the face and there's a new movement afoot that aims to make sure I never do.

Natalia Milano was a prolific slapper until her boyfriend told her he didn't love the sound her palm made against his cheek anymore because he felt humiliated, he was unable to return the favor and he felt striking another human being was just generally wrong.

You can read the entirety of Milano's argument against a woman's outlet for righteous indignation here, but if you're not inclined, here's the summary of her argument:

'Sometimes we just need to stop to think, and change comes naturally. I want to tell girls that a slap in the face is not an argument, it is disrespectful and, even though we see it in movies or on TV, we should not reproduce this behavior in real life.'
