Last night on a special SEC Championship Preview Edition of "Hey Coach", Randall Singer asked Coach Saban "What specific trait or characteristic comes to mind when you think about the 2014 team so far? What distinguishes this year's team from other teams you’ve coached in the years passed?"

Coach Saban replied, “I think that resiliency would be the one word comes to mind, the quickest for me.

...of all the teams we’ve had since we’ve been here, we haven't had a team that’s come from behind more often than this team has. Whether it's LSU, Arkansas or last week against Auburn.

That would be the first word that comes to mind. We’ve had some dominant teams that won games by big margins - got off fast - and knew how to finish and played with great consistency. This team hasn't played with great consistency all the time. I think when they're focusing they play pretty well, but there's been times where we didn't play very well.

The first half last week we gave up a lot of big plays. We actually gave up like 17 points in the last 23 minutes of the first half and first possession the second half.

There's a lot of things that are self-inflicted wounds that we need to get corrected as a team because you don't want to give other teams those kinds of opportunities, but you've got to give this team credit, more than any other team that I've had since we've got here, because they overcome it. They know how to overcome it. They don’t get frustrated. They don’t put their head down. They just keep playing. We make some plays and get the momentum of the game back. They seem to always be able to do it when they need it most so that would be what I would say the trademark of this team has been all year long."
