My son has two dogs that live with him, a rottweiler/lab mix named Chino and an innocent little mutt named Sweet Pea. That all changed on Thursday when he got Bucket.

How my son became the boy chosen for this pup is a story that starts in Birmingham about a month ago when BJC Animal Control was alerted because a person heard cries coming from a paint bucket. Upon arrival they found this scared dachshund puppy who was only a few weeks old, waist deep in paint and left to die under a tightly closed lid.

Don't get me started on the type of person who would do this to another living thing and what I think should be done to them. I'll save that for another time, another post.

Bucket, as she was named, was taken back to BJC headquarters where she was cleaned, fed and shown her new home where she was to stay for the next month while awaiting to find her "forever home."

We just so happen to have a friend who works with BJC so my son and his mother became aware of this poor baby's plight the minute our friend posted a picture of Bucket's paint covered rear on Facebook. Some back and forth conversation happened and in the end, my son found a puppy. Most importantly though, this sweet creature someone tried to kill, found a group of people who made sure she didn't die and who helped her find a "forever home" with my son.
