I don't think I ever imagined a time when I thought I'd actually be able to say 'I used to be a smoker', but that has been my new reality for the past three months. I've noticed even that I've unconsciously transitioned from saying 'I'm trying to quit' to 'I don't smoke'.

Since I put them down, I've NOT smoked 1,758 cigarettes and saved over $475.

Last week, I checked my Quit It app and was surprised to see I was ten days away from this mile stone and being cigarette-free feels great physically and mentally. I almost wish I hadn't looked at the app because I found myself thinking of smoking more frequently, but the truth is, I rarely do these days. Smoke breaks no longer rule the time in my day and that's the greatest benefit of quitting.

The thought of quitting may feel like a big mountain you aren't sure you can climb. Maybe you think you've smoked too long and the damage you've done to your body from smoking is too much to overcome but that's junky mentality. 20 minutes after your last cigarette, your body begins to repair itself.

Why not make quitting for 20 minutes your first goal?
