My Husband’s Sweet Suprise

A month or so ago, my husband banished me from his shop but was kind enough to make sure I had my own.

I would have been fine with the metal building he discovered sitting vacant at his father's house then had hauled across Tuscaloosa. He insisted the inside be insulated and the back include a small deck. Both were thoughtful additions that I'm so appreciative he considered but I discovered recently that he wasn't finished. He decided I needed a front porch as well.

Yesterday, our friend Kameron began working on the floor and  after he finished for the day, Perry asked me to come look at his progress so far.

When I stepped up on the deck I noticed an area that appeared to be cut out. I looked closer and discovered this:

Several months ago, Perry had stumbled across the Kimberly brick while exploring the woods behind our house. He'd been so excited when he brought it inside to show it to me but I'd completely forgotten about it. He obviously hadn't.

Perry's not the type of husband who showers me with flowers and chocolates and I sure am glad.
