Morning Show Hosts WVUA’s Mike and Jack Royer

Longtime Alabama television news anchor Mike Royer and his son, Jack, joined The Steve Shannon Morning Show with Simone Eli. Mike shared stories of his long and incredibly successful broadcast career that's led him to Managing Editor at WVUA. Royer's resume includes decades in Birmingham as the main 6 and 10pm anchor with WVTM 13. This morning on the show, Royer said he's enjoyed his new managing role at WVUA and the opportunity to teach students, especially his son Jack.

Jack Royer is a junior enrolled at The University of Alabama, where he works full-time at WVUA under the watchful eye of his father. The young Royer is following closely in his father's footsteps as a weekday anchor and reporter. Jack says he loves covering Tuscaloosa, meeting people around the wonderful city, and telling their stories.
