More than 70 University of Alabama student-athletes are slated to graduate during this weekend’s commencement ceremonies, including two NCAA champions, 11 All-Americans from nine different sports and four Academic All-Americans.

The Crimson Tide’s May graduates include softball all-star Haylie McCleney, the 2016 SEC H. Boyd McWhorter Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The three-year All-American has also earned back-to-back Academic All-America nods and was named the 2015 Softball Academic All-American of the Year. McCleney won’t take part in this weekend’s graduation ceremonies in Coleman Coliseum, as she and her UA teammates will be taking on No. 15 Georgia at nearby Rhoads Stadium.

Defending NCAA women’s golf champion and spring graduate Emma Talley will also be in action this weekend at the NCAA Shoal Creek Regional Golf Championships in Birmingham. Talley’s fellow national champion, two-time NCAA women’s tennis doubles champion Maya Jansen, is also graduating this weekend.

Also on the graduate rolls are CoSIDA Academic All-Americans Alexis Paine (women’s track and Field) Krystal Rivers (volleyball) and Sierra Wilson (volleyball). McCleney is also one of three SEC Scholar-Athletes of the Year for their respective sports, joining Retin Obasohan (men’s basketball) and Abby Lutzenkirchen (soccer). Obasohan and Paine are two of four Tide student-athletes who earned Master’s degrees this semester, joining Nikki Hegstetter (women’s basketball) and Richard Mullaney (football).

Mullaney and CFP Championship Game Offensive MVP O.J. Howard are among eight Alabama football players earning degrees during the spring semester. The others include Cooper Bateman, Paden Crowder, David D'Amico, Alex Harrelson, Stephen Hodge and Walker Jones. After this weekend a total of 36 members of the Tide’s 2015 national champion football team will have earned degrees.

All-Americans Jansen, McCleney, Paine, Rivers, Talley, Wilson, Alex Amankwah (men’s track and field), Dominique Kimpel (women’s track and field), Emma Saunders (women’s swimming and diving), Carley Sims (gymnastics) and Crews Wellford (men’s swimming and diving) are all among this weekend’s graduates.
