More traffic delays are on the way next week.  Construction work to prepare alternate routes in anticipation of next year’s bridge construction on Highway 69 South is slated to continue next week on Kauloosa Avenue. The Alabama Department of Transportation will start work Monday to add a left turn lane from Kauloosa Avenue onto 69 South.

According to the Tuscaloosa News, work on the $200,000 turn lane project is expected to last through the end of the month with workers on site between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Also taking place will be the application of a final asphalt layer on the Highway 69 extended turn lane onto Kauloosa Avenue, while shoulder improvements will take place near the intersection of Kauloosa Avenue and JW Cole Drive.
