Monk’s Favorite New Country Songs on 95.3 The Bear

I'm a man who has broad tastes in music. In one day I have been known to from listening to Dierks Bentley to Alabama-born rapper Yelawolf. 

I just like music. Unlike most on-air personalities I've known, my career in radio didn't start with a life-long dream of becoming the next Howard Stern but with a love of wanting to play music for people.

Growing up, I had older cousins who introduced me to bands like Van Halen, KISS, Rush, and The Eagles. I remember always borrowing their cassette tapes and listening to them start-to-finish, reading every single word of the liner notes and following along to every lyric.

Around that same time, I found a box containing 100-150 of my mom's 45 records and completely immersed myself in listening to each one of them, both side A and side B. When friends would come over I'd sit in front of my stereo for hours and play them this music I had discovered.

So it wasn't the want to talk or the gift of gab that drew me in but the want to share. Sometimes I'd even share the ones I didn't like and offer my opinions on why I didn't like that particular band, which I still do now. Yes it's true, I don't like every song that's released but the ones I do like, you know it.

With that being said, here is a list of new songs we're playing right now on 95.3 The Bear that I think you should hear because I think they're kinda cool.
