There's no place like home for the holidays, a thought shared by the loving dogs and cats at Metro Animal Shelter. There will be an open house on Saturday to visit the pets, along with a chance to win raffle prizes or silent auction items.

You never know, you may find a new best friend to spend the holidays with! During the open house adoption fees are just $50. This fee does include the pet getting spayed or neutered, some vaccines, a microchip, and surprise goodies for the new pet parents. These "extras" are only given out that day with adoptions.

A fun way to support the shelter is to buy a few raffle tickets for just $1 each. The silent auction will feature amazing Christmas gifts like Alabama prints signed by football players. They're already framed and under glass. Retail price is for over $900, you may able to get your hands on it for much less! Also, Nancy and Co fine jewelers donated a nice diamond and white gold necklace. Adidas came through with sports backpacks filled with Adidas winter gear, and one even has a sports watch. You could win it for a fraction of the retail price, while helping the shelter!

Winners don't have to be present to win raffle drawings. However, you must be present to claim silent auction items.

Alecia Tingle at Metro Animal Shelter shares, "we here at the shelter, never forget the reason that we are here. All of our four legged buddies here are deserving of the best we can give them, and we do that everyday. We appreciate your interest in our endeavors to take care of each and every one of these pets as they wait for you to come adopt them and give them a forever home."
