The City of Tuscaloosa has a new city clerk!

The City of Tuscaloosa has announced that Mayor Walter Maddox has appointed Tony Meggs as city clerk, effective May 2. Megs, a U.S. Air Force retiree, also holds a bachelor's degree in management and marketing from the University of Alabama as well as master’s degree in operations management from the University of Arkansas. It is said that his extensive experience in operations and logistics will be a tremendous asset to the city clerk's office.

Meggs' appointment fills the vacancy left by the Jan. 1 retirement of Tracy Croom. Croom began working of the city of Tuscaloosa in 1987 and was the first minority hired by City Hall as a professional.
