McAbee Construction Company will host 'Takin’ Cancer for a Ride' this Saturday, April 29th.

The motorcycle ride will begin at Northport Civic Center, travel through rural Tuscaloosa County and end at Rhythm and Brews in downtown Tuscaloosa

DCH Foundation director of development Casey Johnson said,

The impact this event has on helping our patients in need is critical to our mission. We are thankful McAbee Construction started the ride back last year after a five year hiatus. Many are riding in honor or memory of their loved ones with cancer. In return, they are helping others because their participation benefits The DCH Help & Hope Patient Assistance Fund.

Registration begins at 10:00 am and kickstands will be up at 11:00 am. Entry is $20 per bike. T-shirts are also available for $20. Rhythm and Brews will have food, silent auction and door prizes donated by the community.

The DCH Help & Hope Patient Assistance Fund was established in 1997 to provide assistance to Lewis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center patients who were facing financial difficulties during their treatment. The Help & Hope Fund provides assistance in helping patients with medications, lodging, household needs, medical equipment and transportation to and from treatment.
