Parents all over the internet went crazy trying to figure out a math problem that appeared on one second grade student's test.

I can't lie. Once I reached the second line of the equation, I raised the white flag, but once the steps to the solution were revealed (from a helpful firefighter who called into the Madison & Shepherd show to help), the question didn't seem so hard.

Math has already been catastrophic for me and word problems only add another layer of chaos happening in my mind when I'm forced to engage with numbers.

If you're feeling brave today, see if you can figure out the word problem below. Be sure and leave your guesses in the comments below and we'll update the article later with the correct answer.

'There were some people on a train. 19 people get off the train at the first stop.17 people get on the train. Now there are 63 people on the train. How many people were on the train to begin with?'
