Man Opens Fire on Northport Police

Northport police are looking for a man who shot at officers during a domestic violence call Sunday morning.

Authorities responded to a possible domestic violence call around 5 am Sunday at Northgate Circle Apartments. When officers arrived, the female victim alerted them that the suspect was leaving on foot out of the back door.

When two officers gave chase, the suspect reached for a handgun and began firing. Police said the suspect fled the scene and neither of the officers were injured nor did they fire their weapons.

The incident is being investigated and the suspects identity has not yet been released.
