Last night, a gun shot wound lands one man in DCH for immediate care. The incident, being called an accident by the victim, happened in the parking lot of K-Mart on Skyland Boulevard in Tuscaloosa.

A woman leaving the store noticed the 35 year-old man outside his vehicle. She stopped to help and ended up driving the guy to the hospital. Authorities arrived at the hospital to get details on what happened. The victim explained that the shot fired after sitting on his gun while in his vehicle in the store's parking lot.

Sgt. Dale Phillips, the commander of the Tuscaloosa County Metro Homicide Unit, says the injury is not life-threatening. The incident remains under investigation.
