Alabama left tackle Cam Robinson will not miss any significant time after spraining his ankle in practice this week, UA coach Nick Saban announced Wednesday.

“Cam Robinson sprained his ankle and probably will be back to practice on Friday,” Saban said. “We're hopeful it's nothing serious, just a lateral sprain to his ankle.”

Robinson, a rising sophomore who started all 14 games as a true freshman left tackle last season, appeared to be limited during the Crimson Tide’s third spring practice earlier in the day on Wednesday. Though his was still dressed out in full pads, Robinson stood off to the side, watching the first- and second-team offensive linemen as they went through blocking drills.

On Monday, Robinson briefly left practice with an apparent injury but later returned. In his absence, rising junior Brandon Greene filled Robinson’s usual spot at left tackle with the first-team offensive line group.

Last season, Robinson sustained a high ankle sprain in the third quarter of Alabama's 34-20 win at Tennessee and was expected to miss "a couple of weeks." But with a bye the following week, Robinson had enough time to nurse the injury to make the start in the Crimson Tide’s Nov. 8 meeting at LSU.

Robinson, a West Monroe, Louisiana native, was ranked as the No. 1 offensive lineman coming out of high school a year ago. In January, he was named a Freshman All-American by the Football Writers Association of America.

Other notes:

- Cornerback Cyrus Jones (hip) and outside linebacker Denzel Devall (foot) remain sidelined from full activities at Alabama’s practices. (link) While Saban provided no further update on either player’s status, he announced after the team’s first spring practice on March 13 that neither player is expected to play this spring.

Through three practices, both Jones and Devall have worn black non-contact jerseys while riding a stationary bike or working individually with strength and conditioning coach Scott Cochran and former Crimson Tide defensive lineman Wilson Love, who appears to be working as an assistant to Cochran.

- Backup running back Tyren Jones remains out of practice. The rising redshirt sophomore rushed for 224 yards and two touchdowns in 2014. He was suspended indefinitely by the team in February for an undisclosed violation of team rules.

- Reserve offensive lineman Grant Hill has also yet to participate in practice this spring. Hill, who played in seven games last season as a backup at left and right tackle, is on “medical leave,” Saban said on March 13. He missed several weeks of practice during the fall due to illness.
