LOCASH & Why They Dropped Cowboys
I was getting a hair cut and Jamie Parker (who makes me beautiful once about every 3 months) asked me “Why did Locash drop the Cowboy name?”
It’s a good question and some think maybe they we’re trying to change the stereotype that comes with the phrase “Cowboy” whatever that means. Locash was recently asked the same question as they reply may surprise you.
“I wish we had a better story,” Chris Lucas and Preston Brust explained. “But we were just looking for a cool logo, and Preston is a kind of like a politically-correct graffiti artist, and we love the ZZ Top logo. Man, it’s one of my favorites. So we wanted to do something like that with an ’80s kind of vibe. He drew it on a napkin, and I was like, ‘Dude, that’s amazing.’ And he was like, ‘It doesn’t say Cowboys.’”
Brust added, “He was like, ‘I love it just like that.’” And thus, a shorter name was born.
