National Night Out will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Sokol Park; the event is free to attend, and free hot dogs and cold drinks will be served.

The Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office described National Night Out on their official Facebook page:

"It is a night where all area citizens, law enforcement agencies, community groups, churches, and businesses can work together to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood involvement. This event send a message to criminals, letting them know that our neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. It cultivates a true sense of community and provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together in a positive atmosphere. When law enforcement and the community work closely together, some amazing things can happen. Tuscaloosa is a great place to live, and we want the best for our community and its citizens. [National Night Out] provides a great opportunity for everybody to come out and show there is a lot of good in our community."
