Fans, friends and family will have a chance to celebrate the life of Little Jimmy Dickens before he’s laid to rest this week. Funeral arrangements and public visitation details have been announced.

The 94-year-old country legend and Grand Ole Opry star died on Friday (Jan. 2) after suffering a stroke on Christmas day. From 4-8PM on Jan. 7, there will be a public visitation at Woodlawn Roesch Patton Funeral Home in Nashville. The next morning there will be a public celebration of life service at the Grand Ole Opry.

The Opry service begins at 11AM, and friends, family and the public are welcome to attend. It’s a fitting setting to celebrate Dickens life. The Opry’s oldest member joined in 1948 and was an institution over the last several decades, performing for a final time on Dec. 20. Dickens greeted fans, new artists and country superstars with a warm smile and a joke. Many newcomers hold being introduced by Little Jimmy as a career highlight.
