For some parents, finding something for children to do during the summer months can be quite the task. Some children stay home, others travel, and even more take part in summer camps. Different organizations in West Alabama provide a variety of camps but probably the most unique is the Kids Clay Camps at Kentuck.

Six different sessions for Kids Clay Camps at Kentuck are being offered for 6- to 12-year-olds through June and July. Each session is composed of three classes, where attendees will learn the basics of pottery, completing three different projects which will be built by hand rather than on the wheel.

The camp is run from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., Tuesday through Thursday; and the price for each session is $130, which includes 25 lbs of clay, glazes, tools, and kiln firing. For more information, call (205) 758-1257 or email eskinner@kentuck.org.
