March 24 will be a big day for Kenny Chesney fans. According to social media, the country superstar will be revealing more details about his new music on that Thursday.

On Wednesday (March 16), Chesney posted a 10-second video to his social media accounts. There's no music, but there is a whole lot of static noise, along with the words "We didn't turn it on, but we can't turn it off." There's also a date: "3-24, 3:45PM CST," and the Facebook icon.

True, the announcement could be about just about anything, but it seems likely that those words are lyrics to a new single, especially given that Chesney recently shared the news that he is working on a new album.

“There’s a moment you feel a record grab hold and take shape,” he says. “You can have great songs and not have an album. You can have a killer record that won’t move people on the radio. The idea is to balance both, then hopefully create something that does both, that also says something as a whole. I think we’re on our way.”

Chesney has spent the past several months writing and working on songs in Austin, Texas, in the islands and on the road. The singer is again working with longtime co-producer Buddy Cannon at Los Angeles- and Nashville-based studios, and songwriters include David Lee Murphy, Josh Osborne and Shane McAnally, as well as help from Matraca Berg, Allison Moorer and Hayes Carll — and a few surprises.

Additional details about Chesney's new music have yet to be revealed, but in a new interview with Billboard, his manager, Clint Higham, says that the target release date is May.

"He's still recording. He's a great A&R person, and he knows the funnel in which he can compete is pretty tight," Higham says. "You can't give [fans] too much of where you've been, [and] if you try to conform to what everybody else is doing, then that doesn't stay true to him. But from what I'm hearing, he should be in good shape."
