Kenny Chesney kicked off his Tuesday morning (Sept. 23) with a bang, introducing his new album with a performance on the 'Today Show.' The superstar brought along an old fan-favorite in addition to his hit single 'American Kids,' the lead-off release from 'The Big Revival.'

Chesney had one goal while appearing on national television this week: make the audience feel good. And he succeeded, not only in impressing a large New York City crowd gathered for the Toyota Summer Concert Series, but those at home, too. The star delivered 'Somewhere With You' from his 2010 album -- always a crowd-pleaser -- and spoke about his hopes for 'The Big Revival.'

"'The Big Revival' was made with a lot of positive energy and it took some time to make that," Chesney dished. "When they hear these songs, I just want them to feel that positive energy and to know that we made this album with a thread of living in the moment. A lot of my songs, some of them have been nostalgic, but [on] this record there's not a lot of nostalgia on this record. There's not too much looking forward either. It's about taking your moment as it is and trying to enjoy that."

The feel-good tune 'American Kids' was the perfect way to launch into a Tuesday. It'll follow up nicely with a slew of other new songs. Chesney's 'The Big Revival' is out now -- buy it here.
