Keith Urban, Maren Morris, Blake Shelton, Lindsay Ell and more than a dozen other country artists have teamed up for a PSA to remind fans to be on the lookout for fake social media accounts. Readers can press play above to watch.

In the nearly three-minute video, Kip Moore, Maggie Rose, Trace Adkins, Kelly Clarkson and others warn fans to never engage with a fake account, and to always look for a blue checkmark to denote that an artist's account is verified and official. These stars, and many more, have been dealing, in recent years, with impostors setting up accounts in their names and trying -- sometimes successfully -- to trick fans into sending money or other their personal information. (Jake Owen even once tried to contact the person behind a phony account!)

"They are just losers," says Morris of the people behind the fake accounts. Urban takes a harsher tone, calling it "complete bulls--t."

"Never give out any of your private information," says Shelton, before adding, to drive the point home, "If you do, you're f--king dumb."

A number of the artists in the new PSA have shared the video on their (official!) social media accounts, along with a link to SocialMediaSafetyNashville.com. The bare-bones website includes the video, a list of the artists involved, and links to resources to report fake accounts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

"We want to set the record straight -- your favorite artists have not and will not ever ask you for your personal information or anything like that," a statement on the website reads. "Know how to spot the signs of fake accounts, report impostors, and help us take charge of this growing issue to protect the best fans in the world."
