East Lyme, Conn.-raised singer Katie Perkins is giving The Boot's readers the first look at the uplifting music video for her song "Take My Hand." In the clip, Perkins acts as a gentle and encouraging voice to a few down-and-discouraged people.

""Take My Hand" sends a great message about always remembering who you are, and that it's possible to get through difficult situations in life if you keep that perspective," Perkins tells The Boot. "With the video for "Take My Hand," we explored two different storylines of people who were dealing with heartache. But, by remembering who they are and remembering their strength, they found their way."

One of the "Take My Hand" video's storylines focuses on an older woman waiting for her husband to come out of surgery, while the other features a couple saying goodbye to their daughter and saying hello to an empty nest. In the song, Perkins sings meaningfully, "Take my hand, follow me / We will find the whispers of your heart / A place of love, a place of worth / Beneath the pain and the scars," and in the chorus, her crystal-clear vocals soar as she encourages, "Take my hand, we'll find a way / To look deep inside through the pain / All you need is a listening heart / So take my hand and remember / Remember who you are." Readers can press play on the video below to watch.

On "Take My Hand," Perkins is backed by drummer Ben Sesar (Brad Paisley), dobro player Andy Hall (Zac Brown, Dolly Parton, the Infamous Stringdusters) and Brian Sargent on upright bass, mandolin, acoustic guitar and backing vocals. The artist is currently in the studio with producer Sargent working on her new album.
