Each week 95.3 The Bear teams up with our friends from the Alabama SPCA in an effort to find forever homes for dogs & cats in our area.

Kara is a sweet, loving little rat terrier girl, approx 10 lbs. She was rescued from Walker County and unfortunately, Kara's previous owner had threatened to use her for target practice. Luckily some very nice people acted quickly and kept her safe.

We don't know much about her past but we do know that Kara is a little timid at times and has a little wobble in her back legs when she walks. At first we assumed she had been abused. However, after her vet visit, we are unsure because the xrays show excellent bone structure. Kara has been on prescription medication to help with possible injury we cannot see. Normally, with the medication and crate rest, the symptoms subside.

However, in Kara's case, not much has changed. Therefore, the vet believes Kara's little wobbling back legs may be a congenital defect.

Kara gets around great! She prefers to be in a lap as much as possible. She's great with children and loves other dogs and even cats! Kara also seems so thankful to be getting the care and love she so desires.

She's got a docked tail and her dew claws were removed and she will soon be spayed!
