At just 25 years old, Josh Taerk has already proven that he's got musical chops: He released his debut album in 2013 and an impressive sophomore project in June. Now, the Canadian singer-songwriter is sharing an in-studio music video for his latest single, "Anywhere Love Took Us," exclusively with readers of The Boot.

Taerk wrote the nostalgic "Anywhere Love Took Us" alongside Jack Williams and Teddy Morgan, the latter of whom also produced his latest album, Here's to Change. Inspired by '70s rock, Taerk's newest track is a touching homage to the ebb and flow of a time-worn relationship. Following a couple as they travel through the years, "Anywhere Love Took Us" brings together a mid-tempo melody and smooth harmonies with great results.

"Close your eyes and remember when we first met / Passing glances in second period French / I can still hear my name whispered out of your lips / Sneaking underneath the bleachers for our first kiss," sings Taerk, about his first love, in the song's first verse. As the years pass, he fights to hold on: "Flashing forward, it seems so long since those days / Your life gets busy, and love gets pushed off and saved / Well, I'm sick of saving, girl, I'm all in / Let's get it back, get it back like it was back when / You couldn't take your eyes off me / I would do anything to be / Everything you would ever need / All caught up in your touch / Going anywhere love took us."

Pairing storytelling lyrics with saccharine melodies, Taerk has made a name for himself well beyond "Anywhere Love Took Us." What began in 2010 in local venues in his native Toronto, Ontario, Canada, has led Taerk across the U.S. border, and he's played with legends such as Max Weinberg of the E Street Band and John Oates of Hall & Oates (Oates even provided backing vocals on Taerk's latest album!).

Fans of "Anywhere Love Took Us" can hear more of Taerk on 2013's Josh or 2015's Here's to Change; all of his music is available for download on iTunes. Taerk is currently on the road promoting his latest release; check out his website for more details.
