In the two weeks leading up to Saturday's Alabama-LSU game, there was plenty of confidence coming out of Baton Rouge.

That confidence play itself out in Tiger Stadium as Alabama dominated defensively and shutout LSU, 10-0.

"Of course we heard it, and we just kept it in the back of our mind and we just kept grinding" defensive lineman Jonathan Allen said after the game. "One thing Coach Saban always say is you gotta respect the game. I feel like we did a good job of not responding in any negative way, just putting in that work. We let our play do the talking today."

Alabama held LSU to just six first downs and 125 total yards of offense for the game. Star running back Leonard Fournette entered the game averaging 167.5 rushing yards per game this season but finished the night with only 35.

The Crimson Tide defense now ranks first nationally in rushing defense and second in scoring and total defense.
