Talladega Superspeedway has announced that Jerrod Niemann will perform as the headliner for the traditional Saturday Night Infield Concert on October 22nd!

A press release from Talladega Superspeedway states:

Niemann is set to take the stage at NASCAR’s “Party Capital” just hours after the conclusion of the fred’s 250 Powered by Coca-Cola NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race where the field of title contenders will be cut from eight to six, and the night before the Alabama 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series event (Sunday Oct. 23) where only eight of 12 drivers will advance in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup. Admission to the concert is free with the purchase of a Sunday race ticket for the Alabama 500.

Niemann is currently on tour, and working on his new album. The recently released first single, titled “A Little More Love,” is a duet with friend and label mate Lee Brice. His most recent album, High Noon, featured the Platinum-certified hit “Drink to That All Night,” a two-week No. 1 smash. High Noon was a follow-up to his Free the Music album, which included the emotional “Only God Could Love You More” and “Shinin’ on Me.”

Niemann’s chart-topping debut album, Judge Jerrod & The Hung Jury, hit The New York Times’ Top 10 Albums of 2010, with featured hits “What Do You want” and Platinum No. 1 smash, “Lover, Lover.” His larger-than-life personality inspired the hilarious antics in his short-story voiceovers on the album, and he never ceases to amaze fans.

“Race fans expect our Saturday night infield concerts to be as electrifying as the racing action on the track,” said Talladega Superspeedway Chairman Grant Lynch. “Jerrod Niemann is an impressive artist with a unique flavor of music that resonates with fans on so many levels. It will definitely be a show you don’t want to miss.”

A Kansas native, Niemann began studying music at a very young age. A month after his 21st birthday, he moved to the Music City, where he made a name for himself as an ingenious songwriter. He has co-written hits for country superstar Garth Brooks, as well as co-written eight of the 13 songs he recorded on his High Noon album.

Niemann continues the tradition of incredible musical talent that has performed the Saturday Night Infield Concert at Talladega, which takes place near the intersection of Eastaboga and Talladega Boulevards. Free tram transportation – both into the track prior to the concert and back outside the track after the concert – is provided for Sunday grandstand ticket holders.

Talladega Superspeedway’s race weekend kicks off on Friday, October 21st with practice sessions for both the fred’s 250 Powered by Coca-Cola and the Alabama 500. Saturday’s schedule includes Foodland/Food Giant qualifying for both NCWTS and NSCS while the fred’s 250 Powered by Coca-Cola gets the green flag at 12 Noon CDT. The Alabama 500 race is set for Sunday at 1:00 p.m. CDT.
