A hand crafted ground beef patty perfectly seared on a flaming hot grill. To me, one of the best things in this world! Until someone decided to add cheese and make it even better!

Happy National Cheeseburger Day! According to an article on Punchbowl.com,

There are several theories about the origins of the cheeseburger. One story claims that the cheeseburger was created between 1924 and 1926 by a chef named Lionel Sternberger. As the story goes, a homeless man dining at Sternberger's restaurant in Pasadena, California, suggested the addition of a slice of cheese to his hamburger order. Sternberger complied, eventually added it to his menu, and the rest is history.

Wherever it comes from, I'm a better person because of it. I grew up loving cheeseburgers. Ground beef and cheese were cheap growing up and my mother knew she had to feed to hungry, growing teenagers so I grew to love cheeseburgers!

Unfortunately, I've recently lost 28lbs. with the help of Alabama Bariatrics and Wellness so a juicy cheeseburger is kinda out of the question today. So, I need you to enjoy one for me tonight!

Here are a few of my favorite hamburgers grilled up right here in Tuscaloosa. (In no particular order)

Avenue Pub - So exquisite it's served on a cutting board! Add bacon and be treated to one of the most sinful burgers you've ever had! Avenue Pub's fries are on point to!

Mugshots Grill & Bar - At Mugshots, I almost always roll with 'Will's All-American' cheeseburger topped with a runny fried egg!

Five Guys - I always get the 'Cheeseburger,' NOT the 'Little Cheeseburger.' Go big or go home I say and then bite into one of the juiciest, double stacked, cheese-covered beef patties ever!
