Is Snow Coming Soon?

So we're getting calls asking if i't gonna snow this weekend and Steve Shannon is predicting kids to be out of school on Saturday again. lol

Here what the pro's at the Weather Factory are saying...

COULD WE HAVE SOME WINTER MISCHIEF IN HERE DURING THE WEEKEND?
We'll have an Alberta Clipper that will make its way southward and into Central Alabama during the weekend that will bring us a chance of showers and possibly some snow. These type of systems are usually moisture-starved by the time they reach Central Alabama, but we could have some surprises.

Confidence is really low at this point as the GFS has really backed off of its snow solutions (mainly 2.0-3.0 inches) while the European model is bullish on snowfall amounts (mainly 3.0-7.0 inches) from Saturday evening through Sunday evening. The main question is will it be cold enough to get accumulations or will the snow (if any does fall) be heavy enough to outdo the temperatures.

Right now, Saturday's highs will be in the lower 40s to the lower 50s, then dipping into the upper 20s to the lower 30s by early Sunday morning, then topping back out in the mid-40s to the lower 50s by Sunday afternoon. Don't go out and stock up on the bread and milk just yet as this can and will change throughout the week, but we'll stay on top of it.
