I've been running for a few years and in that time have had several friends that I've hit the roads with and even made a few new friends along the way, but none as fulfilling as this.

I will soon be running with 'Ainsley's Angels' and could not be more thrilled and honored to be a part of such a brilliant organization! I had seen them at a few races over the past years but it wasn't until I talked to a friend of mine who ran them, after a race. I was blown away that this group of people came together for such a heartwarming reason.

The 'Ainsley's Angels' mission,

... aims to build awareness about America's special needs community through inclusion in all aspects of life, by promoting awareness, providing education, and participating as active members in local communities.

On event/race day, I will run as an "Angel," We're the athletes who have the honor of pushing and pulling the "Captains" who are the focal point of every team. They're paired with "Angels" who will ensure their goal is accomplished.

That same day I also met the President of the Central Alabama chapter, Vera Lewis Spinks. She and I talked briefly about what they do and agreed to keep in touch. A large gap of time went by until Vera came in to interview with Madison & Shepherd about 'Ainsley's Angels' being the chosen charity for Tips 4 Tuscaloosa in September. She immediately said, "Monk, when are you going to come run with us?" And that was all it took. A few days later I signed up through their website and since then I have been approved to run and was given a list of races they'll be in. Or shall I say, we'll be in.

I am now a proud member of this team.
