Holt High School Student Shot To Death Defending Sister

Jalen Merriweather,18, was shot and killed outside Broadmoore Gardens Apartments about 645pm Friday, according to the Tuscaloosa Police Department. Cops say Donald Robertson pistol whipped Merriweather's sister and shot at him when he intervened.

Robertson is wanted on murder charges.

Jalen Merriweather was a popular basketball player at Holt High School. Merriweather played in the 7A state basketball game on Thursday night. He posted a picture on Facebook celebrating the victory. A friend replied with "only the beginning bro".

Police are looking for the shooter, Donald Robertson. Contact police if you know anything about his whereabouts.
