Townsquare Media will expand its high school football coverage in 2016 by adding the Hillcrest Patriots to its programming lineup on 95.3 the Bear (WFFN-FM).

Every game of the 2016 season will broadcast live on the same station that carries Alabama football on Saturdays, and expectations might be just as lofty down Hwy. 69 as they are inside Bryant-Denny Stadium for the new year.

The Patriots enter the season ranked No. 4 in AHSAA Class 6A under head coach Sam Adams and feature one of the nation's top running backs, Brian Robinson. The Alabama commit set a single-game rushing record in 2015 when he ran for 447 yards against eventual state runner-up Clay Chalkville.

Each game broadcast will begin at 6:30pm with a pregame show leading into the 7:00pm kickoff. Longtime play-by-play broadcaster and Hillcrest theatre teacher Brent Jones will call the games alongside Hillcrest Athletic Director Brad Armstrong.

"We are thrilled to bring Hillcrest Football to 95.3 the Bear," Jones said. "The Pats come into the season ranked #4 in class 6A, with future Bama star Brian Robinson at running back, and we are excited about the opportunity the fans will have this year to follow the games, either listening on their own devices at the stadium or on the road if they have to miss for whatever reason."

Fans will be able to hear every broadcast on 95.3 FM in West Alabama but will also be able to take the game with them wherever they go by downloading the radioPup app for their mobile device.

The season kicks off on Thursday, August 18 at the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery against Demopolis. That broadcast will have a unique starting time of 6:45pm.
