Hillary Scott & the Scott Family have released a picturesque music video for "Thy Will." The song is the first single off their forthcoming gospel album Love Remains, due out July 29.

Directed by Shane C. Drake, "Thy Will" finds Scott in a cabin secluded in the woods near a lake with a wild white horse running in the distance. Walking along a path near the lake, she finds a rope. As she untangles one knot, another appears, frustrating the singer. Meanwhile, images of her and her husband appear as her 2-year-old daughter looks on, all as Scott looks up at the sky in prayer.

"I may never understand that my broken heart is part of your plan / When I try to pray all I got is hurt," she sings alongside piano accompaniment.

The 30-year-old singer recently revealed that the song was inspired from a dark chapter in her own life. She cried as she told Good Morning America that she suffered a miscarriage during her second pregnancy last fall. She said she wrote the song in the middle of “experiencing everything that comes with a miscarriage. So it was my most raw place that I could’ve ever been when this song truly poured out of me.”

“I also feel like there’s this pressure that you’re just supposed to be able to snap your fingers and continue to walk through life like it never happened,” she adds.

She says the experience has made her appreciate her bond with her daughter even more. “I’m a different mom to her now … I hug her a lot tighter.”

Hillary Scott & the Scott Family will release their gospel album, Love Remains, on July 29. She has also reunited with her Lady Antebellum bandmates, who are on the road again this summer after taking a brief hiatus.
