For the past few months, Mr. Bonner can be found at the beginning and close of each day walking the up and down a short stretch of grass at the location he says God has placed on his heart: the intersection at Five Points in Cottondale, Alabama.

He holds a simple sign with a powerful message that proclaims 'Jesus Will Save You.' He smiles and waves at each of the honking cars as they pass.

No one who stops to meet him remains a stranger very long after spending a few minutes with Mr. Bonner. He's warm and welcoming to all.

He doesn't faithfully hold his sign for money and although he's planning a missions trip to the Philippines in the very near future, he is quick to clarify that those two ministries are completely unrelated. He just wants people to know hope can be found by accepting the message on his sign.

The testament of his faith in God and belief in Jesus Christ is evident in path he's beaten in the grass at the intersection.

Although his shoes are falling apart, Mr. Bonner is quick to share how good God has been to him and how his needs are all met.

Still, people want to show Mr. Bonner how much of a blessing he's been to the thousands who've driven by. Scott and I have received dozens of emails, texts and Facebook messages from people wanting to support him in his ministry.

I stopped by this afternoon and asked for his approval and he wanted to pray about it. He said he would always accept anything God chose to bless him with but I realized I would never get his explicit permission. He doesn't want anything to taint his motives or his ministry so instead, I will oversee the contributions from those who would like to show their support for Mr. Bonner and his faithful dedication to giving hope and encouragement  to so many.

I will leave the campaign open until just prior to presenting to Mr. Bonner ahead of when he departs Tuscaloosa to continue his ministry overseas.
