Has Your Alabama Power Bill Increased?

We Alabama folks pay the 2nd most for electricity, al.com reports. After opening an electricity bill that had doubled I certainly believe it.

Our heavy use is blamed with AC in the summer and heat in the winter. The average bill is $1747 a year or $145.58 a month.

Only South Carolina has higher rates than Alabama.

I simply do not trust those smart meters. I think they overcharge. And how would we really know? I liked seeing the meter reader in the backyard monthly.
