Grammy Nominated Artist Pat Green To Perform Saturday Night Infield Concert During Talladega Superspeedway Weekend
Talladega Superspeedway announced today that country music singer-songwriter Pat Green will perform the Saturday night infield concert during the Camping World RV Sales 500 weekend, October 18-20.
The concert is a traditional event for ‘Dega Nation and held just off the infamous Talladega Blvd. the night (Oct. 19) before NASCAR’s Wild Card race in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Chase for the Championship – the Camping World RV Sales 500. Access to Green’s Saturday Night Concert is easy: It’s open to all Camping World RV Sales 500 ticket holders!
Green, who’s been following his own path in the country music industry for over 15 years, is a perfect fit to perform in front of Talladega’s crowd with his blend of mainstream country-rock appeal and honest, gritty Texas songwriting. Through the years Green has made his name with hits like “Wave On Wave” and “Let Me”.
Last year’s album, Songs We Wish We’d Written II, features songs penned by the likes of Lyle Lovett, Tom Petty, Shelby Lynne and John Randall, reached number 15 on the US Billboard Country Charts. The album is another step forward for an artist who is never satisfied repeating past successes.
Some of those past successes include going on the road with some of country’s biggest names like Keith Urban, Gretchen Wilson and Kenny Chesney. He’s also co-written songs with Willie Nelson, Brad Paisley, Jewel and Rob Thomas and appeared on such national TV shows as Austin City Limits, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Late Show With David Letterman.
“Pat Green is a phenomenal country artist with a reputation for doing things his own way, and that reputation matches up nicely with Talladega Superspeedway’s,” said track Chairman Grant Lynch. “The Saturday Night Infield Concert is tradition now at ‘Dega, where all fans are invited to the infield to get a taste of the non-stop party that goes on inside the track all weekend. Having Pat Green be the soundtrack on Saturday night will keep the party going for a long while.”
The stage for the show is set up at the intersection of Talladega and Eastaboga Boulevards, where dedicated partygoers have set up some of the most flamboyant and outrageous campsites for their and everyone’s entertainment.
The Camping World RV Sales 500 is the sixth race is the NASCAR Chase for the sprint Cup Championship. The unpredictability of the outcomes of races on the high banks of Talladega gives the track the distinction of the “Wild Card” race in the ten race Chase.
