In late September, Garth Brooks earned his seventh diamond-certified album, and he's going big to celebrate: The country superstar will play a free concert at Nashville's Ascend Amphitheater in late October to commemorate the occasion.

Brooks announced the free show, set for Oct. 24 at 7PM, during a press conference in conjunction with Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam, held in Nashville on Monday (Oct. 3). A press release explains that viewing screens, as well as refreshments and vendors, will also be set up at Riverfront Park for the event.

“For people like me and Ms. [Trisha] Yearwood, the dream has always been in Nashville,” Brooks said at the event (quote via Wide Open Country). "[People] are moving here because this city is a fabulous place to live. For the next 20 years, this is going to be the city to be in."

During the press conference, Gov. Haslam also named Brooks a Goodwill Ambassador for Tennessee.

"Garth Brooks can live and make music anywhere he wants, and the fact that he has chosen to do that in Tennessee says a lot about our state," Gov. Haslam says in a press release. "We're grateful he is partnering with us because he represents our state so well and inspires people to visit Tennessee ..."

Brooks' celebratory Ascend Amphitheater concert will be a scaled-down show and feature a number of Brooks' radio hits. Fans interested in scoring tickets should follow Tennessee Tourism on Snapchat (@Tennessee) to receive a code for tickets.

On Sept. 21, Brooks’ 2007 The Ultimate Hits collection became his seventh release to reach diamond status -- that is, to have sold 10 million copies; the other six albums that have helped him reach his historic diamond status are No Fences, Garth Brooks, Double Live, Sevens, The Hits and Ropin’ the Wind. Brooks now has more diamond records than the Beatles.

Brooks is currently on the road for his World Tour with Yearwood. The trek began in 2014 and is scheduled to wrap up almost three years later, sometime in 2017. In addition to his tour, Brooks recently launched his own channel on SiriusXM and played his first-ever show at the Ryman Auditorium to commemorate the event.
