Miss Tuscaloosa 2014 and current Miss Metropolitan Cassidy Jo Jacks stopped by the studio to talk about how we can help the USPS this weekend to end hunger.

'Stamp Out Hunger' is the nation's largest one day food drive. Every second Saturday in May, mail carriers from all 50 states both deliver mail and collect food donations. The drive is held in May because many food banks face a depletion in donations from the holiday season.

1 in 6 people in the United States suffering from hunger, 1 in 5 in the state of Alabama suffer from hunger. Those are two statistics Miss Metropolitan 2015 is not okay with. She's even started a website where you can you donate to a virtual food bank, educate yourself about hunger in America, buy bracelets to support the cause, and more.

Saturday, please don't forget to leave your non-perishable food items by your mailbox for your local postal carrier to deliver to the West Alabama Food Bank.
