Food Drive Totals Released in Alabama vs. Auburn Collection Competition
The annual Beat Auburn Beat Hunger Food Drive has wrapped up and so has a similar drive down at Auburn. Now, it is time announce how much was collected with each drive and name the 2015 winner!
Before we get to that total, just know the greater good which has been done with each college community to stock local food banks to help neighbors in need. The West Alabama Food Bank is the beneficiary of the Alabama collection.
Thanks to so many dedicated students with their caring passion to give back to our community. You rock! Also, thanks to everyone who supported the drive one way or another. That could be a traditional food donation or attending events, such as the Beat Auburn Beat Hunger 5K Run. Props to your big heart! This is truly an example of the great things we can do, when we all pitch in!
Okay, let’s get to it, the officially announced totals for 2015:
Auburn University’s Food Drive: 211,625 pounds!
University of Alabama’s Food Drive: 116,370 pounds!
Grand total to help to feed those in need across the state: 327,995 pounds!
Congrats to all!

As BABH posted on Facebook, “just a reminder that the fight to end food insecurity doesn’t end here! You can donate to your local food bank year round!!” So true. Thanks everyone!
