As each year comes to a close, we tend to reflect on the things we have and what they mean to us. It’s that time to say thanks and 95.3 The Bear is no different.

Here's a list of 5 things we’re thankful for this year.

1. As always, we’re thankful for our listeners – Listeners of any radio station allow the personalities to do what they love. Essentially, listeners make the radio world go round! Think about this, if no one listened to Monk on the radio, Monk would have to get a real or normal job. If that happened, there would be no Monk on the Radio beer in Alabama for you to enjoy because Band of Brothers wouldn't have created it. No bueno!

2. We’re thankful to have Steve Shannon back in Tuscaloosa – A powerhouse in Tuscaloosa for about ten years, Steve and his former partner went their separate ways and our friend ended up somewhere in North Alabama doing play-by-play for air hockey games or something like that. We took a priest to where he lived, exercised his demons, threw him in the back of a van and brought him back home to T-Town. We also coaxed Simone Eli away from her lucrative career doing sideline reporting for video game championships and put her behind a radio mic, in front of Steve. Boom! Magic!

3. We’re thankful for Wild Bill – Well, no, wait, yes! Yes we're thankful for Wild Bill! We're still trying to fully figure that one out why but he's cool, loves Alabama football and has the best collection of vintage cereal boxes ever!

4. We’re thankful to be such a big part of fundraising for St. Jude – With your help, we’ve raised nearly $250,000 for St. Jude in the last 9 years. That’s amazing! We’re all a part of bringing cancer survival rates from 20% in 1962 to over 80% today!

5. We’re thankful for great live country music in Tuscaloosa – This year we’ve hosted Rascal Flatts, Chase Bryant, Chris Stapleton, Dierks Bentley, Randy Houser, Confederate Railroad, Glen Templeton, and a ton more! Whether it’s at The Tuscaloosa Amphitheater, Druid City Music Hall, Rhythm & Brews, or anywhere, we’re appreciative. We definitely are looking forward to a great 2017 concert season!

In closing, I’m personally thankful craft beer, living in Tuscaloosa and sausage ball season. Roll Tide and have a great Thanksgiving!
