Tuscaloosa Fire and Rescue  encourages you to "Turn Your Attention to Fire Prevention" by focusing on several safety tips such as:

  • Cooking Safety
  • Space Heaters
  • Electrical Cords
  • Candles
  • Escape Plans
  • Residential Fire Sprinklers
  • Smoke Alarms - Installing and testing them.

Having a working smoke alarm increases your chances of survival in a fire by 50%. Roughly 3 out of every 5 fire deaths happen in homes with no smoke alarms or the smoke alarms are not working. Test your smoke alarm EVERY month!

Fire Marshall Gene Holcomb will join Madison and Shepherd on Monday October 5th to discuss more and help Turn Your Attention to Fire Prevention.
