A must-attend event for bird-watchers and outdoor lovers alike, Eagle Awareness was created specifically for folks to visit Guntersville and enjoy watching the symbol of American heritage in it's natural habitat.

Spanning six weekends from early January through February, this event has been a tradition at Lake Guntersville for over twenty-five years. Eagle Awareness weekends are free and feature guided field trips, knowledgeable guest speakers and talks from the park naturalist. Those eager to catch a glimpse of the symbol of Freedom meet their tour guide around 5:30 am before setting off to enjoy a day of activities which include trips to High Falls Park, the Cathedral Caverns and an abundance of wild life and waterfowl.
