I remember some of the 'ole folks' gnawing on pickled pigs feet when I was a kid. I never could wrap my mind around the act of eating them. A foot. Really? I used to see pigs feet pickled in a red vinegar brine in a huge jar on the counter of little country stores. There would be wax paper sheets and a pair of tongs laying beside them.

I tried a foot ONE time. It was salty and fatty and full of knuckles and well, just not that darn appetizing to me.

It's been a while since I've noticed any pigs feet for sale in a convenience store but I did see many, many jars on the shelf at Sam's Club. Apparently there are enough folks in the Tuscaloosa area chowing down on "ready to eat"  pickled pigs feet that Sam's stocks them in plenty.

That is crazy to me.  I think as a gag, I'm gonna buy a jar and lay them out on a decorative platter for Thanksgiving dinner and see the reaction.
