Putting the "thunder" in its name, Country Thunder was forced to cancel Thursday's (July 21) evening shows due to inclement weather. Chris Young, Chase Bryant and Dallas Smith were among the acts that could not perform.

Young shared his disappointment in the above video posted to his Facebook page, saying, "Hey everyone at Country Thunder Music Festivals - bummed the weather stopped us from playing tonight ... love you guys!"

The other artists also reached out to their fans on social media, with Smith tweeting, "Sorry for everyone at Country Thunder tonight. All of us artists wanted to play but it was obviously too dangerous."

Bryant shared similar sentiments, tweeting, "Tonight's the first show I've ever had to be part of that was cancelled by horrendous storms. Fans your [sic] always first in safety! #illbeback."

Organizers of the festival sent a press release announcing the decision to cancel the evening's shows.

“Although later than planned, we thought the system was going to pass and allow us to get on with the show,” said Kim Blevins, Country Thunder Music Festivals General Manager. “But persistent rain, high winds and lightning strikes created an unsafe environment for our fans and artists. It’s disappointing, but in the end, it was the only decision that we could make.”

Blevins continued by saying, "We just want to let everyone know that the next three days will more than make up for a lost Thursday evening."

Fans who had Thursday wristbands and parking passes will be able to exchange them for Friday. Friday's performances will include Florida Georgia Line, Parmalee, the Cadillac Three, the Bellamy Brothers, Haley George and Bryan White.
