I love food! Not so much that you would call me a "foodie" but I like to experience new things, so it may be shocking that I haven't eaten at a Tuscaloosa staple.

Working on Skyland Blvd. these days, it's kind of hard to miss the brand new Milo's Hamburger's restaurant that has quickly sprouted up over the past few months.  Yes, you heard me right... I've never eaten at Milo's.

I remember all too well the destruction that hit Tuscaloosa on April 27, 2011 and can name all of the businesses we lost that day, including Milo's. I know the importance of this restaurant to the people of Tuscaloosa and the importance of this business coming back after that tragic day.

Then why have I not eaten at Milo's before? I honestly have no answer to that question. I guess, no one offered to take me out to eat nor did I ever get the craving to stop by on my own. Maybe I didn't get the craving because I hadn't had my first magical experience yet.

Since construction of the new Tuscaloosa location started, I've encountered some strange and a few hateful looks when I tell folks I've not eaten one of their signature hamburgers!

So how about this... when the new Milo's on the corner of Skyland and 69S opens on June 17th, let's have a big lunch together! They'll also be serving breakfast so we can go for either! But, I will probably need someone to go with me who can walk me through my first experience!
