With only five days until the final College Football Playoff selections are made, Alabama finds itself in a great position to return to a semifinal game.

The selection committee released its latest set of rankings heading into championship Saturday and the Crimson Tide held steady at No. 2. Clemson, after holding off South Carolina last weekend, managed to hold on to the top spot.

This is how the top four looks with one weekend remaining:

  1. Clemson
  2. Alabama
  3. Oklahoma
  4. Iowa

The first two teams out are Michigan State and Ohio State.

The Big 10 Championship between the Hawkeyes and Spartans should effectively act as a quarterfinal game for the playoffs. The winner of that game should lock up a spot in the top four.

Clemson and Alabama are also playing in a conference championship game on Saturday, giving both teams a chance to hold their place in the rankings.

Here's a look at the entire top 25.
