Cole Swindell had the 2017 ACM Awards audience up on their feet in no time for his performance of “Flatliner” with Dierks Bentley, who guests on the track. The guys have had a lot of practice, though, as they’ve been performing the song on Bentley’s What the Hell Tour together.

The rock-infused track brought the party as the guys worked the stage and showed off the rapport and swagger they’ve been cultivating on the road — and fans loved it.

“Flatliner” was actually written by Swindell with Bentley in mind, so it’s no surprise that Swindell pulled him in for the track.

“I wrote it for him, sent it to him and never heard from him,” Swindell explains. “I don’t know if he heard it or didn’t like it, but a year or so ago, I was texting with him and sent it to him, and he loved it. We talked about it for a while, and sure enough, we got to do it, and it’s ... awesome. I’m just very excited to be singing with Dierks.”

It’s clear the two have a blast performing together, and the ACM Awards were the perfect place to show it off. Bentley also co-hosted the broadcast in Las Vegas with Luke Bryan for the second year in a row.
