Changes at the Tuscaloosa Mercedes Plant

There is a new leader at the Tuscaloosa Mercedes plant.

Michael Gobel will be the new head of SUV/Sports Cars Production and President of Mercedes US International, effective July 1. He will be in charge of daily operation.

He replaces Jason Hoff, who will be the new head of Quality Management Mercedes Benz Cars.

Mercedes is bringing back executives who already spent time in Tuscaloosa. Gobel was head of planning in Vance back in 2008.

In 2014 Gobel took over the management of the global compact car production network of Mercedes Benz Cars.
